Before making big decisions in life, Christians must pray often and consistently to receive guidance from the Holy Ghost. A daily and sincere prayer life is a requirement for Christians regardless; so if that's important to a believer, he or she would already be praying and searching the scriptures for help. Whatever a believer wants or needs, the Bible has it. So reading the Bible and other Christian literature can certainly assist in arriving at the right decisions in life.

We should definitely consult God FIRST before doing anything rashly. Prayer must be the first Modus Operandi because although God knows your needs and wants, He loves to hear you ''go in your closet'' and converse with Him about them. Another method I'm big on is Fasting! For me when I do it, it gets me in a different mindset and focused solely on Him ONLY! We must be willing to wait on His answer also because God is never rushed by any of our circumstances, not because the love is gone but because He is God and has many other children waiting on His Answers too at His alloted time! One of my go to Scriptures speaks on this in Mark 9:29 being the actions believers must take. Although Jesus was exercising a demon here, I believe it still applies and is relevant to my initial answers. Most bad decisions as believers are made because we didn't consult with God first and made up our minds well before we asked Him to come in and then got the nerve to be mad and upset at God when we didn't follow His Path and Instructions. We MUST wait on Him and hear His Voice FIRST before actions are taken.
